2001 Opel Astra Coupe Bertone review from UK and Ireland
"Probably the best real performance car you can buy for your money"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Colour coded gear stick head - numbers have scratched off (only shoddy thing on the car I can find).
General comments?
Got it on an import from Trade-Sales - very quick delivery time and a lot of money off (£3500 cheaper than UK). Didn't know the interior spec - got CD player, full leather interior, heated seats, cruise control, aircon etc...
Feels much like a 2.0 16V Calibra, but the Michelins on it hold the road better, also much nicer interior and more practical. Engine has higher torque than the Calibra at lower revs and is lighter (all aluminium). Bodywork doesn't rust - fully galvanised where as Calibra's do rust under the arches.
Beige leather interior sounds tacky - it's not, it's extremely luxurious, variable lumbar and leg support on the seats. Back seats are very roomy plush - nice centre arm rest.
