2000 Opel Astra 3door Sport review from Greece
"Reliable sporty car"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Front right headlight got some water in it at 10.000 Km - dealer changed it at no cost. Front brakes are a bit noisy. No other problems until now.
General comments?
Very nice reliable car.
Sporty suspension, but needs harder springs to perform better on slow turns.
Upgrading rear drum brakes to disks is a must, if one wants smaller braking distances.
100 HP is not enough to accelerate the 1160 Kg of this car. So I upgraded the engine electronics and injection system along with the engine air filter and took 30 HP (more or less). Now I get 210 Km/h top speed and acceleration is much much better especially at low engine revs. 1.8 16v engine is a very good idea.
Fuel consumption is 6.5 up to 8 lt/100 Km
after the engine upgrade - very good!!!
