2000 Opel Astra CDE from South Africa - Comments

I recently bought a 2001 Astra 1.8 CDE .I love the car!

No problems. Very quiet, very fast. Quick acceleration in all gears. Perfect handling.

Be careful when buying a 2nd hand vehicle, and that goes for any make and model, the problem is most of the time not the car, but the previous owner!

I own a 1997 Astra 160ie, it's my first car and I could never have asked for a better car. Only problem I have is that suddenly the oil light went on a few weeks ago and the motor started making a noise, but then after the car stood for 2 days without driving, I decided to start it up again and now everything is back to normal; no sound from the motor and the oil light is off.

I am prepared to spend what I must on my car to make sure she is running smooth, but it would be easier if I knew what the problem is as not all mechanics wants to work on the Astra, or just say they don't want to touch it.

Anyway, I hope that if I upgrade to a later model anytime, that it will give me the pleasure I have experienced with my car.
