1997 Opel Calibra X2.0XE review from Netherlands
"A beautiful and reliable purple sports car wich is rare to find in this condition"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The dynamo broke at 85.000 kms. The replacement costs were 200 euro, I think that's about 75 pounds.
I still got the cracking door problem, but I think almost every Calibra has it. My last one a 1992 Calibra had the same. anyway I'll look for a way to solve it, maybe I should replace the door pins and put some oil on it.
General comments?
The car I own is a Calibra DTM 2.0 16v Ecotec. its manufactured in 1997 and I think the car was one of a last showroom model wich could not be sold.
Even with the car 5 years old now, it looks like its close to brandnew.
I'm very proud on my car and especially because it's a limited edition of the car.
In total there are 2100 Opel Calibra DTM's manufactured. With the 2.0 16v ecotec engine there were a total of 981 cars manufactured. and I've got number 671. This car compared to my old 1992 Calibra is much better. The brakes are better, even with the car lowered. Standard off-factory 16" BBS Wheels, Oil-voltage meter, and a very special interior. everything on this car looks new. and I am very proud on it.. The only things that aren't stanrad anymore are the air filter i installed a K&N) and the Gaspipe (Now a Remus Gaspipe). The rest is standard.
