1993 Opel Omega Club Caravan review from Finland
"Comfort and space on wheels"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The electronic chip blew at 200,000 kilometers.
Some parts of the body had to be repainted after about 180,000 kilometers.
Some parts made of rubber in the chassis have had to be replaced couple of times.
Handbrake doesn't stay tight for longer than a month or two.
General comments?
The car spentits first four years in veterinary use, and after that we have been using it as our family wagon. It has been able to fulfill all it's duties during the years and we are not going to sell it away (maybe never), as there are soon going to be new users for a car in the family.
There is finally another Omega coming to our family, again first for a veterinary-car, then common use. We are all looking forward to see if this new 2.2 Elegance caravan can work as well as its eight year older big brother.
Of course the basic Omegas can't be called performance cars in any situation, but there has always been enough power to get easily, safely and fast from one place to another. With all the things you need with you.
