2007 Opel Zafira Life review from UK and Ireland
"Nice car, crap transmission"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing "gone wrong" per se. However...
General comments?
Upgraded a 2005 "old" model Zafira 1.8 auto for this "new" model 1.8 Easytronic.
Easy it isn't - it is a crashing harsh poorly designed gearbox.
Just awful to drive. It has whiplash inducing upshifts in full auto mode, and the manual mode is idiotic in its operation to say the least: it will "kick down" from 5th to 3rd @70 mph when you accelerate, but then you have to manually re-upshift!!
Parking/ hill starts etc are an absolute chore as it will not "hold/ creep" in drive!!!
Topped off by an ill-informed dismissive salesman
AVOID.
