The car has been extremely reliable, having done 45,000 miles. However, it has recently developed a noise from the gearbox which sounds like it may be expensive.
Fuel economy is the car's downside. Round town I get as little as 20 mpg which is very poor for a small car. On a run this can be as good as 45mpg if driven carefully.
Newer model has a smaller engine to improve economy.
Good fuel economy is not to be expected from an automatic especially when coupled to a 1.6 engine, 45mpg out of town is actually very good for this engine transmission combination.
