"Fantastic first car"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Passenger-side speaker rattled badly when I first got it. Dealer fixed it by re-adding the door.

Steering column squeaks sometimes, and the dealer have already oiled it once. Also the exhaust manifold started rubbing on the engine & squeaking, but it's been tightened & is fine now.

Didn't start one morning, but when it finally did the revs were all over the place, idling at over 2000. Hasn't done it since & haven't had chance to get the dealer to check it out yet.

General comments?

The car is very comfortable, especially as it's small and I'm big! (6ft 3")

For a small engine it's very nippy at slower speeds.

The acceleration tapers off towards 70mph, but this is to be expected with a small engine.

Easy to park due to the excellent power steering!!!

The rev problem which you had is guaranteed to come back again. This is a problem with most 106's that Peugeot doesn't tell you about.

However if you go to your Peugeot dealer I can guarantee you that they will give you a little plastic rev controller and they will try to charge you about £100 for it.

Don't buy it, as the problem is their fault, buy one second hand and let them know that you are not impressed.
