1992 Peugeot 106 XN review from UK and Ireland
"Affordable, fun, no-frills motoring with a bit of character"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Both wing mirrors were stuck when I bought the car and required stripping down and regreasing. Driver's door "handle" sometimes works itself loose. Door seal wasn't watertight and required a blob of silicon. Normal wear and tear (exhaust, fan belt, lightbulbs). Speakers caused door pockets to buzz until I stuck pockets down with double sided foam tape. Not bad for 9 year old car. Has developed a minor oil leak somewhere.....
General comments?
Bought as second car for girlfriend to learn to drive in. I love it too, it's as cute as a button! No rust yet, very cheap to run, reliable if a little sluggish on cold/wet mornings, suprisingly spacious (seats 5 plus German Shepherd in boot!) The pedals are too small and too close together for my size 10s and the steering is a bit heavy. Smart interior is uncluttered if a little spartan. Superb ride quality and good handling, would be perfect if it had power steering. Misses a 5th gear, though nippy for 1.1 (100+mph).
