1998 Peugeot 106 Rallye review from UK and Ireland
"A real giant killer!!!!!!!!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
OSR brake caliper inoperative, replaced under warranty.
Sometimes doesn't start but can be remedied by re-inserting the ignition key.
Coughed and farted for a while after being caught in a serious downpour but a bit of WD40 squirted into the dizzy area has meant it hasn't happened since.
General comments?
The best hot supermini on the planet, outhandles 95% of cars on the road today, superb engine matched to a faultless chassis. Get the blue as white is a bit dull. Don't expect comfort as the car was homolgated for rallying and therefore Peugeot have built them with the foresight that most of the interior will be ripped out, so no power steering, sunroof, power windows, air con etc... The upside of this is a massive weight saving (90kgs) over the GTi and of course, cos it was homolgated there are loads of tuning parts available from Peugeot.
