What things have gone wrong with the car?
Reliability:
Front suspension wears rapidly. Timing belts best renewed after three years to avoid snapping and consequent trouble.
Model History:
Oct 91 Range Intr as 3/5dr hatch. XN as base with adj/seats, man/adj/mirrors and cloth seat trim. XN Graduate as XN plus r/w/wipe and r/cass. XR as XN, plus s/f r/seat, s/roof cost opt. XT as XR, plus c/keyed bumpers, 4spkr r/c. XSi as Xt plus alloys. XS as XSi plus r/c/locking, e/adj/mirrors and e/wins.
Sep 93 106 1.4 Intr with 75bhp 4cyl cat inj eng, 5sp man.
Jan 94 Range Intr Rallye as XN plus sports seats and sports steering wheel. XR now with c/locking as std.
Nov 95 Range Intr Escapade as XN plus r/c/locking and s/roof.
Jun 96 Discont.
General comments?
Great looking range of smallish superminis offering a strong portfolio of abilities. Wide range of engines and trim, but interior space is limited, pedals are offset and there's no steering adjustment.
