1998 Peugeot 106 GTi review from UK and Ireland
"I'm Loving It!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Head gasket blew around 60k.
New braided brake hose needed after previous one snapped.
New driver side drive shaft.
Replaced both rear bushes.
New radiator.
General comments?
I love this car regardless of its fault as I blame these on the previous owner. The car looked immaculate from the outside when I purchased it, but sadly the owner had neglected to tell me that he had been blocking leaks in the radiator with rad block.
I would recommend that if you are going to buy one of these definitely do, but make checks on the head gasket and radiator. Check the water make sure its clear as cloudy or mayonnaise type fluid is a positive sign that the head gasket has gone.
I have had so many problems, but I feel the car is now like new and with an owner that is going to care for the car like it should be cared for I think the car is going to be great.
Fantastic performance, mine has 150bhp on average after a few performance mods.
Also sounds great, I recommend an induction kit by either K+N or Green Filter.
Turns heads!
