1990 Peugeot 205 GTi review from UK and Ireland
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Nothing that you wouldn't expect for the age, and then only relatively minor things. It's had a new handbrake cable, clutch cable, vacuum advance. The biggest things were rear brake discs and a new radiator. When I got it I put a sports exhaust on it and grooved/x-drilled front discs - the original factory ones were fine and still in good condition (71k miles on the clock).
General comments?
What a *great* car!!! It is such a blast to drive, it practically begs you to drive it hard. Performance is fantastic (even scarey after my old 1.1 Fiat Uno) and it handles like a dream. You sometimes hear Pugs being criticized for poor build quality, but mine feels very tight and solid. The only down side is that it doesn't like going slowly in traffic. 160 bhp 206? Yes please!!
