1991 Peugeot 205 Gld review from UK and Ireland
"Cheap, reliable, heavy, work horse"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Paint has fadded and cracked on the roof and bonnet. No other faults except general maintanence.
General comments?
Bought this car because it was very cheap (£300) and my friend had one and said he loved it.
My experience of this car is that it is very very cheap to run in terms of mpg and seems very reliable if looked after.
In terms of the ride, is very bumpy and the car rattles and vibrates really loud. The interior is basic, but easy on the eye, you quickly get use to it.
The good thing about 205's is that they normaly don't suffer from rust and this is true of mine.
The performance is very poor, its really feels under powered and struggles even up motorway hills!
I find the insurance to by way too high for this car, being in a group 7! maybe because it's a 1.8?
If your looking for a cheap solid work horse then this is your car, you will save a packet in fule bills, I can get 150 miles on £10 of diesel! It really is a basic car that will never let you down.
