2000 Peugeot 206 XA review from Portugal
"Not a bad car, but ruined by too many little things"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Wiper washer deposit cracked at 6,000 km. No explanation for that. It was not replaced under warranty.
Air conditioner thermostat failed at 15,000 km. That was repaired under warranty.
Front shock absorbers replaced at 60,000 km, together with a new set of tyres. I've chosen the Monroe GasMatic instead of the original Peugeot. The car became much better.
Exhaust pipe cracked and was replaced at 78,000 km. Usual thing, according to the dealer.
Front brake disks replaced at 90,000km.
Air conditioner engine stopped working at 96,000 km.
Some rattle noise from the rear suspension appears a few days before I changed the car, I didn't repair it.
General comments?
This two seats version has very roomy and ergonomic front seats and a quite big luggage space.
The front suspension seemed too soft for the car weight. Improved with the shocks absorbers change, but the springs are too soft as well.
The transmission relations are too long, so the car has no vivacity, it lacks power when going up hill.
Most of the Portuguese dealers are bad organized and are unpleasant.
