1988 Peugeot 305 select review from Israel
"Fun, but not economical"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Engine block replaced (110,000km)
front brakes replaced (119,500km)
rear breaks replaced (102,000km)
starter replaced (105,000km)
dashboard breaking off and can't find replacement
air conditioning leak fixed
gearbox problematic
heating doesn't work and cannot be fixed.
I did not mention standard replacement of tires and such as all cars have this once in awhile.
General comments?
When it runs fine its pure joy. Its quick, strong, agile for a car its age and others in its time.
Seats me comfortably, (and I am 6'4") But everything just seems to break down once in awhile, and its always something else, and the amounts of money poured on it just don't stop accumulating.
I received this car without cost from my late grandfather (while still living) and thankful I am for his generous gift, but I would hardly recommend this car to someone who isn't a special fan of it.
