1997 Peugeot 306 SLDT review from UK and Ireland

So far nothing.

I have only had this car a few months. I bought it from a friend who repaired and serviced it himself, so have 'known' the car for around three years. He owned it for two years, during which time, he fitted a radiator, and replaced most of the brakes.

The performance is quite surprising, but as most people comment, the brakes are terrible.

Fuel consumption seems good, as I am averaging around 60mpg without really trying, although I am not a foot-to-the-floor driver. Don't have any trouble keeping up with the traffic from a standstill, so I am not sure about other's comments about this.

Handling is superb. Some have commented about lifting off on curves and the like, this is because the rear suspension changes the attitude of the rear tyres, helping cornering, so lifting off should be avoided.

Comfort is good, but it would be nice to have the lumbar adjusters fitted to other models.

I was honestly surprised at the size of the boot for a medium car.

The pulling power is good too, as I occasionally pull a trailer, not overloaded, but definitely heavy when you have to pull it manually.

As for driving, I found that I can cruise quite happily up to 70mph without using the turbo, which I think helps fuel consumption.
