1994 Peugeot 306 S16 review from UK and Ireland
"Rare hot hatch with handling to die for!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
I only just bought the car yesterday, so as of yet I have no problems to report.
So far: Clutch is a touch too heavy and the gearchange is notchy, although this is nit-picking. The car is also thirsty, although this could have something to do with the way I drive it!
General comments?
Performance: Straight line acceleration is okay although not devastating, but the amazing chassis and suspension set-up more than make up for this. This gives the S16 awesome abilities on twisty B-roads - I now go hunting specially for these routes!
Equipment: The car has electric everything, ABS, power steering, half-leather upholstery, metallic paint, alloys, front fogs. No airbag or seat belt pre-tensioners on '94 model though, and less badging.
Looks: 15' wheels and pert 3-door body shell give the S16 a more aggressive stance than lesser 306's. Still, the looks somewhat understate the car's capabilities. Best colours are Sigma Blue and Diablo Red!
Insurance: Expect major problems here if, like me, you're 22 with no previous insurance policies.
