2000 Peugeot 306 XS review from UK and Ireland
"Well worth my £7500.00 I paid.."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Drivers side electric window fell off its running rail, easy DIY fix.
Bulbs tend to blow behind 24hr clock, but easy to replace at 59p each.
Bodywork dents a bit easy so be careful.
General comments?
The 1999 onwards 306 XS at 112 BHP may not go like the 137 XSi, but with a few cheap tweaks runs it damm close and is so much cheaper to insure + has all the same trim minus the leather interior.
My friend owns a black 2000 spec XSi, so we paid for a track day to see what they could do.
In a straight line to 90 he's was quicker, but nit by much so I was well chuffed.
With my tweaks - Viper inuction, new full exhaust system, Ecotek breath valve - the car pulled so damm close to he's up to 90.
Top speed managed on track was 133 which I could never have expected.
With modds car pulls a healthy 125bhp that a + 13bhp gain.
As for build well the cars dent easy and don't feel that strong, but for sheer ride and handling can't fault it, best of its class along with GTi and XSi, (which I have driven)
Over-all car a good one to get if you late teens or early 20's as you won't break the bank on insuranse.
