To the guy with the 120bhp 306hdi.
I have a 306 hdi, intercooled with 21psi turbo, straight through exhaust etc, it has 151bhp with a torque of 250lb.ft. there fore it is impossible for your car to have that much torque, it will not out pull a vtr, and it will not do 70mph in second... it only just pulls it in third no matter what remap you have (i make my own very expensive remaps).
The only position you may be working in peugeot sport is as a receptionist, as you don't seem to have the slightest idea or concept, and exadurate things to the extreme. I doubt if you own a hdi, and even if you do i'd bet that you share it with your mother, and if you had worked with f1, you most certainly wouldnt be driving around in a peugeot 3 0 6 h d I!
I've just bought a Pug 306 2L hdi Meridian W reg. Had 110K on the clock.
I've noticed a gentle ticking noise, which you can hear speeding up and getting louder between 2000-3000 revs.
Anyone know what this is? Should I be concerned??
Hi, I've got a Pug 306 HDi. Only 90 bhp, lowered 35mm. I will admit it's not the fastest diesel going, but on the motorway, businessmen in their Golfs, Audis and Mondeos struggle to pass me on torque until I'm flat out.
Anyway, but I really want a remap. Been told you can get 125 bhp out of one, but is it safe at 115 thousand miles?
Cheers, Tom.

You could remap your car to 160bhp. I have and it's pure rapid. Mine has done 164k!!!
D turbo all the way.
Don't think so buddy - 160 is not gonna happen from a remap alone, especially when you consider you are only starting with 90bhp, 125bhp sounds much more likely. The HDI doesn't have a front mounted intercooler, so that and a remap may push you towards 150bhp. No idea about reliability, I would check owners forums from a google search.
The guy is right, you can get around 160bhp from one if you get it right. Mine has 220 with a lot of mods. Will out perform japanese cars in a straight line.

My 306 d turbo beat a Skyline on the quarter mile at Santa Pod thanks to a mega remap at Peugeot Ecosse. But I blew the engine, no good.
Don't doubt 160bhp is achievable, just not from a remap alone. If you try and up the fueling that much you will not have the air to match it (ignoring the ridiculous strain on the fuel pump + clutch etc).
My 306 is rapid.

My 306 d turbo has 550bhp quickest diesel in the uk 9.5 sec quarter mile time.
Easy tunable cars.
Assuming I believe you, how much of that car is still original? And how much has had to be spent to get that power, how reliable is it, and what mpg do you get combined (considering that's mostly what the 306td was designed for)?
Impressive if you really got those figures (I know how tuneable the 306 diesel is and how sturdy those old diesel blocks are) but people can claim anything on a site like this, so unless you have a link to youtube or something similar I'm still dubious.
What has youtube got to do with anything, there is a 550bhp diesel 306 in the UK. I've seen it race at Crail raceway in Scotland at a Max Power event. VERY impressive!!!
Who cares about mpg when you have power and torque as much as this.

Maybe because tuning a diesel up to these levels is nonsensical, when the same could be achieved with a petrol so much easier!?!
Hello there people. I know someone in France who tuned an hdi 306 to 670bhp with a 20000 euro budget, a machine!
Look at today's winning LeMans car - a DIESEL not petrol.
Plus the s16 (gti) is poor anyway.
Wow that car must be well fast!
I opened up the waste gate on my d turbo sport and now its going rapid.
Mango.
