"An absolute abomination - fails under the trade descriptions act of 'fit for purpose'"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Currently onto fourth Comms2000 unit in just over six months to enable the indicators to work correctly. However, car needs to be returned as steering wheel now grinds.

Two catalytic converter faults in first five months of ownership.

Carpet coming away prevents safe use of clutch and brakes.

Back door stuck shut.

Driver's window squeaking badly and sticking open or shut (depending on position when stopped working).

Stalling at ridiculous speeds.

Constants problems engaging reverse gear.

Rust.

Carpet coming away in driver's foot well (different to the carpet catching on operation of brakes and clutch).

Supplied with windscreen wipers positioned incorrectly.

Serious lack of respect and care from dealership.

Car returned to me last week with damage to side and underside.

Never an apology or full explanation from the dealer.

Dealer tries to trick customers into paying for insurance on courtesy cars (when you can get one), when it is actually written in their company policy that they do not charge insurance if your car is in for a repair under warranty.

My car has been into the garage an average of once every three weeks in the eight months I have owned it.

This list is far from exhaustive - this is just the tip of the iceberg!

General comments?

This is the BIGGEST mistake I have ever made. It is a hideous vehicle to drive and, coupled with the problems experienced, the best description I could give it is a shed on wheels - although that is defamatory to sheds!

If I had the money, I would set fire to it and buy a different car from a decent manufacturer.

I have a late 2003 307 diesel hdi estate, and all my driving is done in and around london, as a mobile service engineer. it is the worst car I have ever driven in heavy congested traffic, the throttle at low speeds when crawling along in traffic, is so jerky, to the point where you get into the habit of slipping the clutch to overcome the problem, you accelerate and for what seems like an eternity nothing happens then with a jerk its off, and you find youself braking to hold it back, the car just cannot be driven slowly below 10 miles an hour without this happening, I have told the dealers about it, one squited the electrical connections with wd40, that will fix it he said, it didn't, another plugged it into a diagnostic gubbins and said nothing wrong here mate, oh but there is I still own the damn thing, the 306 that I had before, wasnt this bad, I DO NOT INTEND TO GET ANOTHER PEUGOET.

I own a late 2003 model, I have to agree with the other two gents the worst car I have ever owned. I travel to and from Scotland every week, on long runs the car suffer from lack of power, in and around town it is nightmare at slow speeds.

In bad weather the viability out of the front windscreen is bad nearly knock a gent over the other, too many blind spots.

Generally the car creeks and groans and totally under performs.

I bought a 307 4 months ago it's a 2001 51 plate, well where do I start it stalls at ridiculous speeds the carpets are also coming away from the floor the catalytic converter has failed and been replaced at a cost of £1500 the boot sticks and takes several efforts to shut my horn only works when I don't want to use it my wiper blades have been replaced twice now and still squeak terribly not clearing the screen at all it is really uneconomical for a 1.6 £50 of fuel will only do 250 miles tops even when driven very economically I can't believe I blew £6000 pounds on a car that looks so nice, but I so utterly terrible my advice to anyone who was thinking about a Peugeot would be don't waste your money.

I also had a peugeot 307 hdi diesel which i think has a lot unbearable hitches, but the previous reviewer comments that he or she spent 1500 good ones on a catalytic converter, I think you should go back and get your damn money back, same thing happen to me I only spent £300 for the whole exhaust (i mean complete- cat. converter, center pipe and back box, and fitting). Generally the car designers had good thoughts during the design of the car probably while sleeping and woke up on the wrong side the bed.
