2003 Peugeot 307 XSi review from UK and Ireland
"I could have made a better job of putting an Air-fix kit together"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Multifunction display fades in hot weather.
Car run away after 10 minutes with handbrake applied.
Intermittent squeak usually when changing gear.
Rear wheel camber incorrectly set causing tires on the rear to wear on the outside 1/3.
General comments?
This car is the most expensive mistake I have ever made. Please think again if you're thinking of going out to buy one of these bangers.
The information screen on the dashboard fades during hot weather making it imposable to read the information displayed. (Screen changed by Peugeot)
Car run away after 10 minutes with the handbrake applied. Peugeot have inspected the car twice and say they cannot find any fault, short of saying I didn't apply the hand brake. How did I manage to get out of the car and go in the boot without the car running over me if that was the case?
Annoying squeek which usually happens when changing gear, Peugeot carried out some lubricating, but the problem is still present.
Had some new front tires fitted at 14000 miles (a bit heavy if you ask me), It was brought to my attention by the tyre dealer that the camber on the rear wheels is out of alignment this has caused the rear tyres to wear on the 1/3 of the outside.
Poor visibilty caused by the windscreen pillars.
Drivers side windscreen wiper doesn't reach the top of the windscreen, this car is designed for left had drive and Peugeot couldn't be bothered to adapt the windscreen wipers for right had drive cars.
Really bad after sales service. The Customer care line is just as bad as the dealers. I had to fight tooth and nail to get the car booked in within a reasonable amount of time for the rear wheel problem to be checked.
And all this from a car with a list price of circa £16000. - I expect a lot more!!!
