When the engine becomes hot, the automatic transmission faults. It happens like this: If I decelerate, the transmission changes down (and this is normal). After this the transmission cannot change up anymore. If I restart the car then the transmission changes up normally until the fourth gear, but if I decelerate, then the problem persists again, so the transmission changes down and never will changes up until I restart the car.
Another problem I have, but I think this are correlated, is that when the speed counts 90 km/h than the car have some kind of light hits (like the fuel is not burning fluently).
This is a common problem with the PSA-Citroen AL4 auto tranny from models 2001-2003. The electrovalves will have to be changed, oil replaced, magnets inserted and software updated. Will cost US$700 parts+labour. Ask your dealer and I'm sure they know how to rectify this problem.
Is it normal that when the car is hot, the transmission changes up at more than 4.000 revs? That is what is happening to me recently.
