1987 Peugeot 309 GRD review from Bosnia and Herzegovina
"The real little giant"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The suspension was bad when I first got the car, so I was happy to get it for free, as it was my first car.
The water pump was replaced after 10 000 km, and in general the wheels were a problem.
General comments?
As this was my first car, I was happy to get it for free. It has gone 30 000 km in a single year on the tour with my band, and it also went over tough mountain roads without a problem, or maybe was it just me because I wasn't spearing it of any harm.
It didn't use much fuel, and in the end when I calculated the general fuel usage it was 4,8 liters / 100 km.
It had to go away only because of one reason, because the costs of the service became too high. In general, that is the problem with Peugeot. I own an Opel Astra 1.7 TD and the costs are incomparable.
The car looks small from the outside, but inside it has more space than most cars in it's class. Only after I didn't have the car anymore, I realized what a price it was.
The exterior may seem ugly for some people, but in some way I liked it. Maybe I got too attached to the car.
