1995 Peugeot 405 srdt review from Australia and New Zealand
"A great work horse and family runabout"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Indicator switch at about 200000 kilometres.
Aircondition fault - required new dryer.
Broken fog lights - fitted lens covers.
New radiator at 200000 kilometres.
New cam belt and water pump at 100000 kilometres and again at 205000 kilometres (standard service schedule).
Left front wheel bearing at 250000 kilometres.
General comments?
I love this car.
It performs really well and with great fuel economy.
It averages 52 m.p.g.
This car is used primarily for work and an average week will see it travel about 1300 kilometres.
Most days the rear seats are folded down and in excess of 200 kilograms carried.
Car is in good condition although starting to show signs of mileage
with numerous stone chips on bonnet.
The engine is still in first class condition and uses no oil.
The car is serviced every 10000 kilometres, about every 8 weeks.
I run Mobil One oil and change the oil and fuel filter at each service.
The tyres all wear very evenly and run about 80000 kilometres with one rotation of front to rear.
This is my second Peugeot having previously owned a 1994 306 xrdt.
I love this car.
