2006 Peugeot 406 LX review from UK and Ireland

What things have gone wrong with the car?
After 10 years of trouble free motoring con rods came through side of engine. Not very happy for this to happen at only 67k miles.
General comments?
Comfortable ride, not to juicy to run, 550 to 600 miles to a full tank if driven sensibly,
generally a decent car till now.
