2000 Peugeot 406 SV3.0 Estate review from Sweden
"A high performance bargain"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Electric window control panel broke at 40.000 km's.
Airbag (drivers seat) gets deactivated frequently when adjusting seat (connection problem).
General comments?
A very nice change from my previous car, a 1999 Passat 1,8T estate. I enjoy the improvement of engine noise level as well as performance.
Interior quality feel is OK, but not like the german cars. I also miss some details like storage space for CD's, cup holders and so on.
The 406 comes with a rainsensor and I actually miss the manual interval control. The sensor doesn't react when it should so you find yourself switching if off anyway. The wipers themselves are quite poor, friction to glass are very weak with under-dimensioned springs. Regardless of wiper spoilers - they "float" when driving at motorway speed. This is a problem that I know is shared with other 406 owners.
