2000 Peugeot 406 GTX review from UK and Ireland

Air bag warning light constantly on.

Mid section exhaust replaced.

Major electrical fault, (most recent).

This is my review of the replacement car I had from six months ago where my previous 406 had irratic running problems and the dealers had swapped the car for a 406 gtx.

I am happy to say that this car runs like a dream without any of the problems I had experianced before from the earlier car.

As per a comment from another 406 owner, the air bag light was constantly on, but because I had read the fix from the other owner it was easy to fix saving me pounds!

I had a problem with the electrics very recently, where I lost all dash board indicators, speedo, rev counter and all the warning lights you could talk about flashing!

After calling out the AA, who told me there was nothing they could do appart from disconnecting the battery, everything restored itself when the battery was reconnected.

I think this fault was was due to some seriously heavy rain and a short circuit accruing somewhere. never the less, the car is being returned to the main dealer (under warranty), for a system check.

I also found that there was a restriction on the revs, having my foot to the floor and only getting max speed of 85 with only 3 adults in the car.

This was such and easy fix. there is a grommet on the accelerator cable with a clip on it, I moved the clip which was positioned half way up the grommit to the bottom and took the car for a spin... it was like driving a new car! again yet another easy fix saving pounds on main dealer charges.
