2000 Peugeot 406 LX review from UK and Ireland
"Very nice -addictive"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Radio was not working.
General comments?
I recently acquired a 406 HDI (110) and though it’s got 79,000 on the clock it is very nice to drive – sure footed on any road – as good as my BMW 316i. The common rail injection diesel turbo returns 46mpg and that’s not really trying. It has ABS with EBS traction and braking is very responsive. I fitted a reversing sensor system because I felt the vision at the rear in close confines was difficult because the rear end is in the form of a wedge and whilst it looks great it can be tricky to reverse.
It has a good boot and an option to lower the rear seat for more space. I would recommend this to anyone, but the car is fitted with very sophisticated electronics that requires a diagnostic plug in device to read fault codes and is not a DIY car to play with without good knowledge like all modern cars.
