1999 Peugeot 406 SW review from Poland
"Comfortable, economic, dynamic, spacious - all what is needed for small price"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Standard problem with the warning light for the side-airbag. Happens from time to time - always fixed by myself - no service needed (Bad wiring contacts under front seats).
Handbrake sensor failure causes the dash to bleep and display 'Brake Fluid low' every few minutes. Service can not help ;(
Poor quality front brake disks - must be replaced with better, not marked by Peugeot ;-)
General comments?
Very comfortable, quick and economic.
Distance range even like 1400 km/fuel tank. Not possible with my previous P406 1.8 16V.
Quite cheap to buy. Official service costs acceptable. Private, non-authorised service costs - low.
Estate version is great, family car. Trunk really large. If you have small kids, and you have to take with you pram and all this other baby stuff, don't be affraid, you always have enough space.
