1982 Peugeot 505 GRD Estate review from UK and Ireland
"Going well after 20 years on the road."
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Clutch plate replaced.
Clutch master cylinder leak.
Gear lever assembly replaced. It became loose after the abuse I gave it when the clutch was failing.
Oil warning light failed. This could have been expensive if not detected.
Radiator leak.
Power steering hose leak. The pump would start growling when it ran out of fluid.
Rear seat cover has worn away recently.
Drivers seat belt unit has worn out recently.
British climate has caused extensive corrosion on bodywork recently although the floor is in good condition.
General comments?
This car is very comfortable and has excellent suspension.
I think this car is almost clapped out. At 20 years old with the rust and growing repair bill I think it is time for a younger model. I don't think I will forget this one though.
