1993 Peugeot 605 Sli review from UK and Ireland
"Don't even think of buying anything else!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Absolutely Nothing...
I thought Japanese cars (Toyota, Nissan, Honda, etc.) were the most reliable cars on the market until I acquired this 605!! (I don't think this applies for all Peugeots though)
General comments?
Previously I had a BMW 520i of the same year and it sounded much better (6 Cyl engine) than the 605 but that was its only saving grace in my opinion. The 605 is a million times nicer to drive, has a LOT more torque, is much better built, more comfortable and a way more modern design in most ways. The 605 is also a lot less troublesome than the 520 in every way with no hidden expensive repairs lurking around every corner (605 electrics kick the ass of those of the BMW 5 series and I know that from experience now)! My 605 was parked-up for almost a year without being used and all it took was a charged battery and it started as if it had been sitting there for 5 minutes. 605 in summary: 40 to 41 MPG, good power, great comfort, complete reliability and cheaper to run & maintain than a Toyota Corolla = best car ever and I love it!
