1991 Plymouth Acclaim Base review from North America
"It is an awesome car for any one who needs a reliable form of transportation"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Had a vacuum leak at 100,000 miles.
Alternator died.
Sticky gas pedal.
General comments?
Only left me stranded once. I have had an average amount of problems, but hey, what do you expect from a ten year old car. The only time I was left stranded was when my timing belt blew at just over 103,000 miles.
I had a vaccum leak at 100,000 miles. I almost sold the car because of this, but I am glad I didn't.
The alternator died and was replaced by a faulty one from the parts store. Shortly afterwards the alternator caught on fire and burnt half of the engine compartment. It was the faulty alternator's fault, not the car.
I have replaced the brakes twice since buying this car five years ago! (pretty good)
I tried to give it good maintaince, but while holding down a full time job, a full time internship, and full time school, the car got neglected. For the neglagence this thing recieved, I think it did excelent.
It is an awesome car for any one who needs a reliable form of transportation.
The only complaint I have for the car is that it costs me a fortune on insurance. hey, not the cars fault.
