"I'll keep buying them till I can't find em"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Rusting on quarter panels.

Very hard to find clean new ones that are original.

General comments?

69 fury handles well, glides and is very smooth.

Very comfortable for families yet sporty and fun.

Sharp looking. Great comments everywhere.

Never fails to start. Reliable.

Bought a second one in July.

Should have made more of them.

Love it!

BOught one for my beginner car last year. It started great, even in the winter.

I love it!

I got duel exhaust, she runns like a GTO! OK OK, you know what I mean...

I love the sund of the 383 v8 when you put your foot into it!

Manual tranny is great--love burning rubber!

Just replaced break fluid, and got new oil.

My Dad drove this car to work, and drove me to school, and he burned rubber (he told me it reminded him of his yuth!) Keep in mind my dad is usually a caucious guy, and is 53 years old... guess we can't get the yuth streak out of us no matter how old we get.

Anyone know if I can get a security system put on here, I am just waiting for some hotshot at school to take a crack at stealing it.

This car, as I said starts like a champ in the winter even at -50 degree c. I keep a bottle of anti-freeze and windshield washer fluid just in case, but so far I have never needed it and this car has never left me stranded.

I got her up to 150 MPh, never want to go faster...she's all I need and more, I get great comments--and of course not too good gas mileage, but in the 60s (as my Dad tells me) gas was about 5 cents a leader (how nice!)

She's now my summer driver, I have a jeep in the winter. I call her Christine! She's the killin machine!

(watch the moovie christine, you'll know what I'm talking about).

Read the book too, its excellent.

Anyway, back to the subject of my plymouth.

Need I say anymore about it?

Oh right... the stario.

I got a cd player in here with a sub in the trunk, I sware it feels like its gonna vibrate the car to dust! hahaha.

But I loved the AM radio!

I love it, it has a carburetor so the engine is easy to work on, and sometimes I had to put gas in the carb, understandable of course.

I love the Fury! I grew up in a '69 Fury 3 that my Dad had from the time I was about 6 years old to driving it with my temps. Beautiful car... smoother than butter and powerful! This is the classic car I want someday!

My baby, Big Red.

She's a Scorch Red colored 1969 Plymouth Fury III. She has the good old 440ci Police Interceptor engine bored, .30 over and drive train in her that the police used to use to catch all the other muscle cars with back during the Muscle Car Era.

I had her built out of 2 Fury bodies and the engine and drive train taken out of a 1969 Police Interceptor Fury with the help of three friends for the body work and for the mechanical work, not to mention my son and I when he was just 7 at the time in 1995 for the brake work on her.

The body, frame and suspension (other than taking the front sway bar off for better inline racing) is still stock for the Police Interceptors and Furys in general.

I've added a lot of extra goodies to upgrade the engine, a 750 Four Barrel Vacuum Secondary Holley carburetor, a Mallory Unilight Electronic Ignition and Distributor, a Crower Low Torque Cam, a 727 Torque Flight Automatic 3 speed Column Shift Transmission with the MOPAR Performance Shift Kit, a 3:23 gear rear end Sure Grip and 8 inch Mickey T's Street Legal Racing Slick Tires in the back to turn her into a Street/Strip Drag Racing car. I have kept the body and interior stock that came with the Fury III models with the exception of adding on a Vintage Air Conditioning System under the dashboard.

Out of the factory the stock Fury's came with one of its optional 375 bhp 440ci engine, a 727 Torque Flight 3 speed transmission, a standard 3.23 gear rear end axle, and the sleek new " Coke Bottle Uni Body fuselage" body style.

It could do 0-60 in 6.3 seconds, the quarter mile in 14.3 seconds (at over 99 mph), and run out to a top speed of (or, by some accounts, above) 147 mph, from what I've read about them. They also came with the option of the ever so classic 426ci Hemi Engines with a conservative horsepower output of, 425 as well which could really open up a Can of Whoop Butt on other muscle cars during that time.

Below are the links to the history of the Plymouth Fury's and their available engines that you could order for them and the history behind the Fury City Police Cars and Interceptors in respective order:

http://www.allpar.com/squads/history.html

With my extra goodies in them, I have it built up to be even more powerful than the performance of the Stock Fury's above, including the Hemi engine. I get a whopping 8 miles per gallon on highway driving. I've had her up to over 170 MPH, just one time racing against some kid in a hopped up 1980's era Mustang that thought he could beat me. Needless to say, I gave him a spanking! That was the first and last time I did that. Getting too old for acting that stupid now, but couldn't resist the urge.

On the 1/8 mile drag strip that I really get the chance to open her up on, so far my best ET and Speed was: 9.32 seconds at 72 MPH. What a rush! Depending on the weather though, I average in the upper 9's and very lower 10's in her at around 70 MPH. I just wished there was a 1/4 mile track near me where I can really put her to the test.

Two last things. I'm in a wheelchair and use hand controls setup on her to drive her myself with. With half a tank of gas, me and my wheelchair in her, we weigh 4,800 pounds. Not bad for a Led Sled, huh?

God Bless All,

Buddy.
