1998 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE review from North America
"This could get real expensive unless I avoid all trees, not a realistic solution!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
This van floods in the front passenger compartment from two causes, one is a poorly designed vent under the wipers which allows too much debris to enter the drainage hoses, and the other is the air conditioner evaporator box. Both these problems cause a severe leak by the front passenger's feet, causing the carpets to always be saturated and the van to smell.
General comments?
These are recognized defects with Chrysler and even though it is out of the 3 yr warranty, I believe they should honor a "goodwill" repair request because it is a design flaw. I was told to not park under any trees if I didn't want the car to leak inside, to keep debris out of the vent. How about building it so it has a debris deflector or screen? $700 each time this happens, and new carpeting also!
