1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE review from North America

"Look elsewhere for a good quality vehicle"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

First 15,000 miles after purchase had to take vehicle in for replacement of front upper suspension bushings, turn signal/wiper switch arm replacement (wipers came on by them selves, defective switch), and A/C switch also defective. Luckily all covered under manufacture warranty, front Brakes needed replacement at only 20,000 miles (not covered). After 36,000 miles warranty was over turn signal/wiper switch arm again defective, still today wipers come on when they want to. Battery died at 40,000 miles, and at 45,000 miles the radiator fan relay became defective causing the vehicle to overheat twice. A recall on this part came out several months later. A few miles later had to replace the engine starter. Was able to drive the vehicle 10,000 more miles when the vehicle stalled due to a fuel tank hose that broke away from the fuel tank, defective retaining bracket, again front brakes required replacement. What else could go wrong? Radio went bad causing speakers to squeal, then radio would quit when ever it wanted to, only thing that worked was the CD player. One month later the right sliding door lock broke causing door to stay locked, and also about that time the engine rpm started fluctuating, had to have engine harmonic balancer cam replacement and idle came replacement. At 72,000 miles transmission died, glad I took out extended warranty on drive train, at about this time again brake pads required replacement.

General comments?

The car is great for travel, very roomy and comfortable, definitley made with the family in mind. There are just too many problems with vehicle to make it worth owning. Poor quality, lots of Recalls, and too many mechanical problems.
