1996 Plymouth Grand Voyager SE review from North America

"It has lasted through almost 30k miles... but is a butt to try and repair"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

I cannot remember the mileage when the A/C Blower on my 96 Plymouth Grand Voyager SEdecided to go dead. But it was about a year and a half ago and we are currently at about 249,000 miles on the van.

One day the cold temeperature started to decline. Then the air coming fromt he vents started to decline and then A/C completely stopped working... all in one day.

My husband refilled the freon. If you put your hand right on the vents you could feel a tiny bit of cold air (one time). But minutes later... nothing at all.

Since then, the blower, blower motor, resistors (I think is the term) and resistor module have all been replaced. But even those the lights on the dash controlling the wipers and A/C are working... the A/C and Heater still do not come on, at all.

We finally were able to take it to a shop, just today. He said he thinks there is a short in the wiring. Because when my husband replaced the resistors and module they have melted to the plastic module. But he cannot find the right wiring diagram (since hubby pulled the all out) to do a wiring/electronic diagnostic on it.

So, we're in a rut at the moment, as the van sits in the shop... trying to find the diagram needed. My husband bought another owner's manual from a popular auto parts store. But it is not the right one, evidentally.

We are considering buying a new vehicle now. Since the transmission is acting funny, the right wiper blade keeps come off (after replacing it a number of times) scratchign the windshield, the ratteling in the back of the van, the front hood latch failure, and the right sliding door lock is giving us troubles as well.
