"Best car in the world for less than $100"

What things have gone wrong with the car?

Interior smelled of mold.

CV joints both went out.

Brakes went out.

Swerved at random over 55 M.P.H.

Hatchback didn't open.

Radio never worked.

Two door handles broke off.

Tons of rust.

Gas tank leaked.

Transmission blew apart.

Carbueator was fixed 5 times.

Everything electrical started on fire.

General comments?

Really cool looking car.

Fastest car I have ever driven.

Gets the women without effort.

Does the best doughnuts.

Extremely reliable.

Very high level of class and comfort.

"Gets the women without effort" Are you serious? An 87 Horizon? I can't see the ladies picking a Horizon over a black Pontiac TA with T-tops. And burn-outs? Please tell me you're joking as this was the best laugh I have had all day.

No I am not kidding. This car could burn out better than any other car on any cruisin' stretch. It was a chick magnet, maybee you have had a stock horizon with nothing on it, but throw 2 15" JL subs with a tarantula amp, tint all of the windows, lowered, 20" rims, BF radial TA's and you have got yourself one hell of car.

???

Whatever, but I did get a 1985 Horizon for $700 with only 30,000 miles. Owned by a little old lady and donated to Salvation Army when she could no longer drive at 90.

I have owned 2 Horizons and 1 Omni, they were the best cars I ever owned, they go anywhere you want to go. I am now looking for a Horizon or Omni for a second car, must be auto. AND Yes They CAN BE CHICK MAGNETS...

First off, I cannot believe I'm saying this but this car really is great. I have an 89 and it works wonderfully. I completely agree. CHICK MAGNET. I'm not insane, I LOVE my horizon too! Its the most reliable wonderful horrible looking beat up piece of crap, I've ever owned. Criticize all you want, but it definately turns heads :)

I have an 87 Horizon as my first car (I got it from my great-grandmother) and it only has like 12,700 miles no it. No kidding. The car is a chick magnet and I have no complaints.

Except the stupid headliner need replaced. That's it.

I've got a '90, its got nuts, I get chicks, Could be the car, I don't think so. I've a 15" Kicker that rattles the sh*t out of it. I paid 5 hundred for her. Another 500 for the system at a pawn shop. I might sell it for $4,000 :) but I don't know.

I read this review, and you made me laugh the most I have at anything all day. The blatant downfalls and great overall aspects of it just blend perfectly.

Perhaps the Horizon got women without effort, due to the fact that it kept breaking down in front of a brothel.

I have a 1985 Plymouth Horizon with Electronic Fuel Injection - Just like the 1988 Models. The thing has a 5 Speed Transmission A525 (limited) 5th gear ratio a slick.78 to 1 I think it is Turns about 2200 RPM at 85 MpH. Gets great Mileage - however I am now married and my little lovebug must go Wife requires me to reduce vehicles. This was my first NEW Car and I have really made sure all things were tight. Got new brake calipers, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, drive axle/CV, 5th Speed Gear, Clutch, Press Plate, Throw out bearings. (Lifetime Guarantee went along way) Store clerk saw the date on one receipt and actually asked the manager what she was supposed to do - Manager Response Give Him The PART!
