After about 15 years the transmission cooler sprung a leak.
All she ever did was brakes, fluids and tune-ups.
The engine once caught on fire at a gas station, but luckily I was there to
quickly put it out.
The block heater once sprung a leak, again I happened to be there and bought some bottled water at a store and took it directly to a shop.
A couple of weeks ago a garbage truck backed into it and the insurance company wrote it off. Mom cried for two days.
The car was still running original parts.
It had not ever been parked in a garage and after 16 years had not a speck of rust.
It was always hard to start and would stall if you didn't keep your foot on the gas for the first couple of minutes.
This car was plenty peppy in it's younger days and if you stabbed the pedal it would light the tires right until the day it died.
Did your mommy REALLY stab the pedal and light the tires?
I once owned a 1987 Plymouth Horizon, red, 5 speed, red int.
Best car I ever owned. I was young, stupid, needed money and sold it. 10 years later I still regret it. I am now searching for one just like my old baby...
Yeah my mom would punch it now and then. Once I let her drive my 74 Corvette and that was an adventure. I found her a 95 Nissan Sentra after the accident and that is a good car as well, but less power so she compensates by stopping at the last possible second, kamikaze style. She's 75 now; just fell down my stairs and jumped right up again, not a scratch.
