1990 Plymouth Laser rs review from North America
"A great car for a back yard mechanic to dink around with"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
The ign. coil went out at 172000 miles.
The timing belts wear quickly so I changed it even though I didn't need it for another 25000+
New water pump/ alternator/ balance shaft belts installed same time as timing belt around 175000.
New thermostat at 178000.
General comments?
Overall I absoultly love my car I bought it from a co worker for 500$ it hadnt been started in over 2 years put a court of oil and battery in it started right up but the only problem I had with the car was the alternator belt started sqealing REALLY badly so I replaced it and I snapped 2 more less than 2 weeks apart on way home from work about 30 miles away from home one of the tnsioners broke and they were out ragisly expensive the parts for mitshubishis are so expensive and I've noticed a lot of you users are havin your belts sqeal even though they are tight well im going to let you in a on a little DSM secert get some candle wax and while the car is running take a piece of wax and rub it on the bottom of the belt where the grooves are and I will garrenttee you will never hear another squeak again unless it gets wet I did mine about 6 monthes ago and havnt heard a single sqeal yet.
