1995 Plymouth Neon Sport review from North America
"Great car - best car I've owned"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Well I have a 95 Plymouth Neon Sport. I love it. I paid 1400 for it and it ran great.
After about a month or two, friends from work told me that it was burning oil. I didn't see any blue smoke so I didn't worry about it about that at the time.
The check engine light came on, so I borrowed a computer diagnostics tool and it said idea system problem or something, so I didn't worry about it. 6 months I checked it again and found out that it wasn't, it was the oxygen sensor (rear). A friend told me that it was always the rear one.
Check engine light again; got the code 64, found out it was the catalytic converter.
Radio would shut off and come back at random. Found it, replaced the power wire from the battery, works fine.
Had problems with speakers producing a popping noise above a certain volume. Replaced wires to the rear speaker and it works great.
New starter and car still won't start. Tried jumping a small red wire to the battery with the key in the on position. Started right up. Later replaced the neutral positioning sensor. Works great.
I am wondering if when when I step on the gas and quickly remove my foot from the gas, not applying the brake, if it should jerk? It also seems to jerk when it shifts through the gears, and it's an auto, not a stick.
