1986 Plymouth Reliant SE review from North America
"One of the best cars ever!"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
When I bought the car for $500, I knew the car would need a new fuel line due to extreme rust.
Severe grind coming from transmission between 20-45mph.
Had a bad overheating problem at 355k, turned out to be the thermostat. ($5)
New tires and brakes, but that's not a fault of the car its maintenance.
General comments?
What a great deal I got. I would probably still have the car if very recently Ohio potholes took its life. As before meantioned, it was rusty, and I hit a huge crater in the road, splitting my gas tank in half and taking a lot of floorboard and frame.
I will always have much love for this car.
It was rusty, but trusty! Never let me down.
Spent $5 in repairs that weren't maintence.
It was like driving a small, boxy couch!
All original engine, transmission, etc. at those miles was fantastic and ran good and shifted smoothly.
Sometimes idled funky from the messed up carb.
A/C still worked!!
Great car despite its age/mileage.
