"Good value and economy, not so good performance"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Garbage '80s GM paint is chipped and faded.
Exhaust manifold is cracked all the way around near the #1 collector. As such I'm getting a false code 32 if I idle in traffic for too long.
EGR valve actually did die last year.
Alternator is going out, and the starter seems like it's gonna give it up soon too.
General comments?
Sometimes I wish I had the 3.1 V6, others I don't. I'd certainly love the power of the 3.1, but wouldn't have liked paying over $200 for the EGR valve.
The 2.5 gets less fuel economy than it should (22 mpg overall) and is seriously underpowered for a car of its size (98 hp, 135 tq, curb weight 2800 lbs.).
Can be uncomfortable on longer trips.
Using the air conditioning and trying to accelerate is like putting your foot in a bowl of pudding.
An overdrive gear would be awesome, but it's only got a 3 speed.
