1988 Pontiac 6000 Plain old review from North America
"Bang for the buck"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Struts were bad when I got it (for 500$ what did I expect?)
Rotors wore out quickly.
Timing Gear went.
Fuel Pump went.
Catalytic converter has been patched several times.
A ball joint was bad.
Alternator went.
It's always stalled randomly.
The engine is now dying.
Rust has taken over the doors pretty badly.
General comments?
All in all, despite that list, I have been happy with this vehicle. Every problem I had was due to the age of the vehicle and the fact that it was parked and not driven for a full year before I got it.
It is excellent on gas mileage, with more than 40 miles per gallon.
The ride is smooth, which doesn't happen much with older cars.
When I first bought the vehicle, I didn't expect it to last me six months. it was my first car and has lasted me 3 years and 60,000 miles, but it's time to retire her.
