2001 Pontiac Aztek GT review from North America
"A"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Tires had to be replaced at 32,000 miles. At 48,000 they are already showing wear and will need to be replaced again soon.
Immediately following the expiration of the warranty, the wheel sensor went and cost $550 to be replaced.
At 48,000 miles the vehicle started to ride rough, but a diagnostic did not find any problems. At around 48,500 the car stopped moving, unable to lock into any gears. The mechanic is recommending a new transmission and says that the current transmission was probably faulty from the beginning. Has anyone else had problems with their transmission, please email me: mindygullo@yahoo.com
Since I purchased this car I have gotten to know a lot of mechanics so my advice to anyone thinking of buying one is, "If you must have the comfort, space and gadgets this vehicle offers, be sure to buy a good extended warranty to pay for all the problems it is sure to have"
General comments?
It's comfortable and has a lot of space.
I love all the gadgets.
I am very disappointed in the reliability of the vehicle. I would sell the car immediately if I could keep it running long enough and if I could actually find somebody willing to buy it for even a tenth of what I purchased it for and put into it since.
