2001 Pontiac Aztek review from North America
"Bad taste (lemon) fits like a glove (comfy)"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Heater blower stayed in high at 10,000 miles.
Wipers-windows-lights quit at 15,000 miles. (body control module)
CD changer quit at 16,000 miles.
Wipers quit again at 20,000 miles. (new motor)
Hatch wouldn't pop several times and has been repaired 3 times.
Sunroof leaked into headliner at 25,000 miles.
CD track won't display on HUD since radio was changed.
Several functions of driver info center (DIC) are no longer available since body control module was changed.
Sometimes the windows lock up where ever they are, up-down or in between (bad in the winter when you go through a toll booth and they get stuck down!!
Wait a day and they work again!!
Both low beams burnt out at 31,000 miles.
Now, at 51,000 miles MY A/C condenser is leaking in the lower right corner!!
General comments?
This is our 5th new car in 15 years and the ONLY one I have spent more time at the shop with than driving it.
Although it rides great and is Very roomy and comfy I think the general public was used as an experiment to work out the kinks in this lemon and now I hear they are dropping it from the line in 2005. Must be the poor mechanical design of the vehicle as despite ALL the failures I STILL love the ride and enjoy driving it.
