1994 Pontiac Bonneville SE review from North America
"A high performance car, but it's not very reliable"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
1. Powering Steering cooling line broke at 72,000 miles.
2. Alternator replaced constantly.
3. Car will be dead in the morning if it is not run the day before.
4. Battery replaced twice in less than a year.
5. Brake sensor light had to be replaced.
6. Anti-lock brakes had to be adjusted.
7. The car has something wrong with it causing the battery to drain, but three places have yet to figure it out.
8. Front power Windows don't work half of the time.
9. Cup holder in center arm rest is cheap and broke off.
10. Water is building up in the rear lights.
11. Light in back passenger side door keeps falling out.
12. It doesn't have much pick up and go like it did when I first got it.
General comments?
I love this car, it is so comfortable to drive I almost fall asleep on long trips.
The stock sound system is awesome and the speakers still haven't blown after what I have put them through.
I have a SE, but with all the options that the SSE has. The leather seats are holding up really well and are easy to clean. I love the controls and the steering wheel. In fact they have spoiled me, now my next car has to have them. The stereo has more than just bass and treble adjustments, it has all the equalizer options.
This car handles like a dream, it is great for highway driving. Although it doesn't have the get up and go that it used to, I can still blow by a lot of cars. The fancy aluminum wheel covers had some kind of reaction with the salt on the roads in the winter and are starting to rust. The Bonneville is very spacious and the trunk is huge. My friends love riding the back seat because of the head rests and arm rest. If you get a Bonneville get the sporty one. I love the bucket seats up front and the center gear shift.
