1993 Pontiac Bonneville SE review from North America
"Lots of problems but it hasn't left me hanging"
What things have gone wrong with the car?
Certain buttons in the power seats have gone bad. Only half work.
Replaced passenger side window motor 4 times since I've had it.
Torque converter clutch gave out at 168000 miles. Transmission had to be overhauled because of it.
Crankshaft sensor had to be replaced because of a short that caused the car to shut off in the middle of the highway. Would immediately turn back on if the engine was warm enough.
Oxygen sensor and exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve have had to be replaced, and the thermostat is causing a low coolant sensor signal.
General comments?
The interior is outstanding, it looks futuristic, at least for a '93 vehicle.
Got me from Kileen, TX to Houston and back (360 miles) every weekend for 20 months without a problem. Still running even with all its problems. I would like to have driven it when it was almost brand new.
