Emergency brakes stick.
Clutch was not smooth until it was eventually rebuilt after 75,000 KMS.
Tires seem to wear faster than expected.
The Fiero GT is a very fun car at a very good price.
Small, only if you don't know how to pack. I am able to transport an 8 piece oversized drum set in this car! In addition, I was able to pack camping and hiking gear for two people and transport my wife and myself for a two week trip. Only thing at our feet was the junk food and the cassette case for tunes.
Though, it may be expensive to upkeep due to all the electronic parts that seem to go as these cars get older, I would only recommend the car to people that can afford to keep it up. Great car. I'll be old and gray before I give it up. I'm now 40! (and not gray yet!)
I tollally, restored an 1985 fiero gt.
rebuilt the 2.8 engine, it draws 188 hp @ 5400 rpm
on this total rebuilt kit/seals to
fuel tube injectors & coil / wiring / starter
altenater & new clutch kit for the manual 4spd.
new black paint with clear & teflon direct heated
into the clearcoat.
A lot of restoring, body & the frame/ unibody was sound & was always treated undercoated, with was a plus in restoring
Sports cars,I use & belive in slick 50 & this all has worked for me, if you're not a backyard tech / mech or
get parts @ cost like we do, then the cost of parts & labour will drain ya Big Time.
overall a sound investment only on 1995 - 1988
gT, s & not the 4 cyl se.
Fiero's are great. Easy to work on and cheap to fix.
-- I think that's what the above comment is trying to say. I haven't seen such confusing grammar since Fabio wrote his own book.
