The brakes were the first thing. I figured that it would be a good idea to have brakes, so I replaced them.
The next thing was the rear main seal and the oil pan followed closely by the rest of the seals in the engine.
After all of those problems my transmission went and I have had to put three in since.
I have also had to replace the tie rod ends because of wear and tear.
This car has to be the biggest lemon that I have ever driven. Even though it has great handling and moderate power, there are just too many repairs and headaches with it.
Another Fiero owner that never realized the importance of this breakthrough car!!! Any denigrating comments, while I understand can be well deserved, are not appropriate for anyone that should understand the importance of this car. For the 80's, it was the equivalent of its electric car, the EV1, that GM produced in the 90's, but only LEASED (what an idiotic and doomed concept). Please educate yourself and understand that we are facing an ENORMOUS energy/oil crisis if we don't very soon realize our vulnerability in the very near future world that we ALL (remember your children and grandchildren) must live in for the foreseeable future.
